OUR STORY
HOW WE MET
We may not have met the old fashioned way, but despite neither of us wanting to be on a dating app, somehow everything worked out exactly how it was supposed to.
Our first date was at Kin Coffee, where things started off with Taylor (miraculously) being on time, an awkward side hug, and good conversation over a few cups of coffee. We quickly bonded over our time living outside of Michigan , and realized we were both looking for something a little deeper. Our first date ended with a trip to the farmer's market, décor shopping for Josh's home, and plans to see each other again soon.
THE PROPOSAL
Josh planned a romantic sunset proposal at Laketown Beach - but naturally, things didn’t go according to plan.
The sun was setting faster than expected, the beach access stairs were gone, and most of the area was blocked off with construction fencing. So, we broke the rules and hopped the fence to get to our “perfect” picnic spot.
With the clock (and sunset) working against him, Josh asked the question that changed everything.

ATTIRE GUIDELINES
Cocktail Attire
We invite guests to wear colors inspired by our chosen palette. Exact shades aren’t required - anything within this color story is perfect. Think olive, sage, taupe, and soft neutrals.
For the ladies, midi or floor-length dresses in elevated fabrics or subtle patterns are perfect. For ease of movement, we suggest heels or wedges suitable for grass and gravel areas.
For the gents, tailored looks in neutral hues (linen welcome) that create a polished yet relaxed feel.
Our ceremony and reception will be held outdoors. Shaded areas will be available, and we recommend dressing comfortably for the weather while staying within our cocktail attire guidelines.
TRANSPORTATION DETAILS
SHUTTLE PICK-UP TIME: 2:00 PM
THE CIVIC CENTER
(150 West 8th Street, Holland, MI)
Due to limited on-site parking at the venue, we kindly encourage guests to take advantage of our pre-paid shuttle service. The venue has approximately 20 parking spaces available, which we are reserving primarily for vendors and immediate family.
Following the conclusion of our wedding at 9:30 PM, the shuttle will return guests to the same location.
Guests are warmly invited to continue celebrating with us at our After Party at Obstacle No. 1, which is conveniently located within walking distance of The Civic Center.
If for any reason, you are unable to utilize the shuttle service, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us directly. We are happy to help and want to make transportation as seamless as possible for everyone.
ACCOMMODATIONS
DOWNTOWN HOLLAND
We highly recommend staying in downtown Holland (our hometown), a charming area with plenty of dining and shopping. Downtown Holland is approximately 20 minutes from the venue and will also serve as the pick-up/drop-off location for our wedding shuttle service.
ADDITIONAL OPTIONS
AIRBNB + VRBO
If you’re considering an Airbnb or Vrbo for your stay, we recommend searching in Holland or Zeeland, as both are close to the venue and offer easy access to our shuttle pick-up location.

QUESTIONS
CAN I TAKE PHOTOS DURING THE CEREMONY?
We invite you to be fully present with us during our ceremony. We kindly ask that all phones and cameras be put away and left off until the ceremony concludes.
WILL THE CEREMONY BE OUTSIDE?
Our ceremony and cocktail hour will be held outdoors, with shaded areas provided. We recommend dressing for the weather while keeping cocktail attire in mind. Guests planning to wear heels may prefer wedges or block heels for ease on grass and gravel surfaces.
ARE CHILDREN INVITED TO THE RECEPTION + CEREMONY?
While we love your little ones, we kindly request that our ceremony and reception be an adults-only celebration. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to celebrating with you.
WILL THERE BE PARKING AVAILABLE?
Our venue has very limited on-site parking. To ensure a smooth arrival for everyone, we encourage guests to take advantage of our complimentary shuttle service. On-site parking will be reserved primarily for family and vendors. We appreciate your cooperation and can’t wait to celebrate together!
MAY I BRING A GUEST?
Due to the intimate nature of our celebration and limited venue capacity, we are only able to accommodate those guests formally listed on each invitation. We truly wish we could celebrate with everyone, and we’re so grateful for your understanding as we keep our wedding day intentionally small.
